Associate Communications Officer

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordination Office in Male, Maldives is seeking an Associate Communications Officer to support internal and external communication activities that advance the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Gather insights and analysis from traditional, social, and digital media monitoring to inform communications strategy and identify reputational risks.
• Maintain relationships with internal managers, functional areas, and staff to coordinate communication activities, reporting, and crisis‑management support.
• Develop and sustain external partnerships with UN agencies, government officials, civil society, media, influencers, vendors, think‑tanks and academia.
• Support the organization of events, campaigns, and training activities related to communications.
• Assist the Crisis Management Team and contribute to information‑integrity initiatives when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in communications, media monitoring, and stakeholder engagement within an international or multilateral environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and external partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
