Chief Engineer – Line Maintenance Lead

About the role

BEOND is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the line maintenance team for its A320 family fleet. Based at the home base in Malé, you will act as the senior technical authority on the hangar floor, ensuring safe, compliant, and on‑time maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and develop engineers and mechanics assigned to the line maintenance team.
• Allocate and monitor maintenance tasks, manpower, tooling, spares and facilities.
• Provide engineering support for complex defects, guide troubleshooting and decide corrective actions.
• Coordinate with MCC, CAMO, Flight Operations, Planning and Procurement to keep the fleet reliable.
• Ensure all maintenance follows approved procedures, regulations and that records are complete and compliant.

Required profile

• Aircraft Maintenance Licence B1.1 and/or B2 (MCAR Part 66, EASA Part 66 or ICAO equivalent) endorsed for the A320 family.
• At least 7 years line‑maintenance or 5 years base‑maintenance experience on the A320 family.
• Proven management experience, preferably as a line station manager or base maintenance manager.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop engineering teams.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of CFM56 and IAE V2500 engines.
• Ability to read and apply AMM, TSM, SRM, IPC, FIM, MEL/CDL and other approved data.
• Good working knowledge of MCAR 66, MCAR 145, MCAR M/Part CAMO and MCAR 21.
• Expert troubleshooting and defect‑rectification skills.
