Commis – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Join the Pullman Maldives Maamutaa team as a Commis, supporting the preparation and cooking of Mediterranean and international dishes in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing mise en place, sauces, marinades, salads and other food items.
• Support the Chef de Partie and kitchen team during daily operations and service.
• Maintain consistent quality, taste, presentation and portion control for all dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow HACCP, food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Store, label and manage food items using FIFO and temperature controls.
• Help with receiving, checking and storing kitchen supplies.
• Assist with buffet, à la carte and special event preparations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
• Culinary certificate or relevant training is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Mediterranean and international cuisine and food hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, flexible with shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Physically fit and able to work for extended periods in a kitchen.
