Front Office Receptionist (Japanese/European Language Speaker)

About the role

The Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is looking for a Front Office Receptionist who speaks Japanese or another European language. The position sits in a team that delivers award-winning service to guests and reports to the Front Office Manager. A Maldivian work permit is provided by the resort.

Key responsibilities

• Handle guest arrivals, departures and cashiering in line with resort standards, following hotel credit policies and procedures
• Anticipate guest needs, take ownership of their concerns and report issues to the Assistant Manager
• Upsell room types and resort facilities sensitively and keep Guest History databases up to date
• Use the property management system, collect and update data, and follow impeccable telephone etiquette
• Assist with travel arrangements, including issuing air tickets and boarding passes and booking hotel and transport
• Comply with cash-handling policies and handle emergencies calmly and in line with hotel policy
• Recommend local cultural, shopping and dining options and offer alternatives when special requests cannot be met

Required profile

• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in 5-star hotels or resorts
• O-levels; technical education in hospitality preferred
• Excellent English, maths and psychometric abilities
• Aptitude and upward mobility; knowledge of a relevant foreign language preferred
