Project Accountant – Construction

About the role

Fedo Pvt Ltd is looking for a meticulous Project Accountant to support its construction portfolio. The role involves managing financial records, monitoring budgets, and providing cost analysis to ensure projects stay on track and profitable.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate project accounts, cost codes, budgets, and commitments in the ERP system.
• Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets, flagging overruns and variances.
• Prepare cost‑control reports, work‑in‑progress analyses, and budget‑versus‑actual statements.
• Analyse project profitability, margins, and forecast final outcomes.
• Process progress claims, subcontractor valuations, and payment schedules.
• Verify supplier and subcontractor invoices against contracts and purchase orders.
• Reconcile project, supplier, and subcontractor accounts with the general ledger.
• Support cash‑flow forecasting and funding requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Assist with monthly and year‑end closing processes for construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of project‑accounting experience in construction, civil engineering, or real estate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification or advanced diploma such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent.

• Proficiency with ERP systems for project accounting.
