About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intern to join the Culinary team at Jumeirah Olhahali Island. The role supports Jumeirah’s values, brand standards, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist chefs in preparation, cooking, plating and presentation of food according to established recipes and standards.
• Support daily kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization and efficient workflow.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, sanitisation and safety in compliance with HACCP and company guidelines.
• Participate in mise en place preparation, ensuring ingredients and equipment are ready for service.
• Learn and apply culinary techniques under the guidance of senior chefs and supervisors.
• Execute tasks as directed by chefs and management, demonstrating professionalism and teamwork.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma, certificate or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality or a related field.
• Passion for food preparation, culinary techniques and hospitality excellence.
• Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene and commercial kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
