Chef de Partie – Bakery at Jumeirah Olhahali Island

About the role

The Chef de Partie – Bakery will join the Pastry team at Jumeirah Olhahali Island, a contemporary luxury resort in the Maldives. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality bakery products that exceed guest expectations while supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all mise‑en‑place and bakery items to the highest standards.
• Train and mentor junior colleagues to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness, health, and safety standards in the bakery area.
• Handle off‑menu guest requests promptly and suggest alternatives when needed.
• Maintain bakery equipment to minimise breakages and ensure smooth operations.
• Develop and update SOPs, recipes and costing sheets to control waste and cost.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role within a luxury resort or high‑end restaurant.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken, reading, writing).
• Proven ability to resolve guest issues calmly and professionally.
• Experience guiding and developing junior staff.

Required skills

• Bakery production and mise‑en‑place preparation.
• Costing, recipe development and waste control.
• Equipment maintenance and health‑safety compliance.
