Water Sports Officer (Local Hire)

About the role

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo, an island resort run by Accor, is looking for a Water Sports Officer (Maldivian / local hire) to deliver safe, engaging water sports, diving and excursion activities for guests. The role covers briefing guests, guiding excursions, promoting activities and keeping the equipment and facility clean.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily tasks according to briefings, manager instructions and company SOPs.
• Ensure guest and team safety during all water sports and excursion activities.
• Provide clear information about excursions, diving and water sports, and explain all-inclusive activities to guests.
• Promote and up-sell diving courses, water sports and excursions.
• Deliver safety-focused briefings before activities and guide excursions in line with company standards.
• Answer guest calls professionally, report guest complaints to management and follow up as needed.
• Respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
• Monitor and report stock levels, gear and equipment needs to the manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and the water sports facility.
• Update bookings, coordinate daily plans with the team and review guest arrivals, emails and billing for accurate posting and closing.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, and follow all company policies.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience; prior resort experience in the Maldives is preferred.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and sales skills.
• Great command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
